Last month, the family of Martin Luther King, Jr called for no celebration of MLK’s legacy without the passage of voting rights legislation.

In a statement released by Martin Luther King, III, the family urged Congress to “restore the very voting rights protections my father and countless other civil rights leaders bled to secure…”

Will you honor MLK’s legacy and his family’s wishes by adding your name to support voting rights legislation the Senate is currently considering? >> [link removed]

I am adding my name of support to MLK’s family - and urge the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act.

I support this bill because it:
- protects and strengthens the voting rights for groups presently disenfranchised;
- bans partisan gerrymandering;
- would make Election Day a legal public holiday;
- would set a national standard for early voting, mail-in voting, and voter registration.

Please honor the legacy of MLK by passing this important voting rights legislation.

Today, MLK’s family and other activists will march across the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge in Washington, DC to draw a comparison to the 1965 march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, for voting rights for Black Americans.

With at least 33 new restrictive laws in 19 states making it harder for 55 million Americans to vote, we must stand with MLK’s family and urge Congress to pass the Freedom to Vote Act.

Please, all it takes is just one click to add your name to honor MLK’s legacy by urging the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. >> [link removed]

As always, thank you for all you do.
