John,

Today, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 's legacy and the foundation he’s built to ensure that every person is given equal access to freedom and liberty.

And yet, despite all that we’ve overcome in the last 50 plus years, today, we’re facing an attack on voting rights the likes of which our country hasn’t seen since Jim Crow.

Republicans are systematically obstructing our access to the ballot box and opposing legislation to protect the right to vote because they know that voting advances change.

That is why Dr. King spent years tirelessly fighting to expand access to the ballot box for Black people–because it truly is a foundation for political action.

In his memory, we call on the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act

And today, we encourage you to reach out to your loved ones and ensure they are registered to vote.
