Recognizing the impact that culture and environment can have on obesity, and while navigating her own struggles with diabetes, Karen made a career in dietetics to bring empathetic health education back to her tribe. "I call upon all of the healthcare community to embrace the meaning of these words: empathy, understanding, diversity and inclusivity," says Karen.
