Today, it is more important than ever to remember that the fight to protect our country's most sacred institution continues. Dr. King's life and work remind us that defending democracy is not the responsibility of a select few, but is shared among all of us.
Renewed attacks against the right to vote are gaining momentum and power. State laws across the country have been written to suppress and disenfranchise voters. At the same time, the anti-democracy movement is running candidates for elected offices to gain control over our country’s electoral system.
We are fighting to protect the right to vote, and we will continue to expand our democracy to ensure all voices are heard.
We must be vigilant and do everything we can to protect the work of Dr. King.
