Team,

Today on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we take time to honor the legacy of a man who dedicated his life to fighting for justice, equality, and freedom for all.

One of Dr. King’s many great achievements was passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Last year, the US Supreme Court gutted the protections of the Voting Rights Act and since then, we've seen new voter suppression laws across the country that disproportionately impact Black Americans.

It's up to us to protect the voting rights that Dr. King fought for and to ensure that everyone can freely exercise their right to vote. That‘s why Congress must pass federal legislation to protect the right to vote.

We still have a long way to go to achieve the dream that Dr. King envisioned, but I believe we can bend the arc of the moral universe towards justice and build a better future for the next generation.

Today I encourage you to reflect on the work of Dr. King and think about ways we can all work together to build a state and country with economic opportunity, freedom, and justice for all.

Thank you,

Seth
