Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: 2019 saw a new rainbow wave but we're not done yet!
ELECTION NIGHT: WINNERS!
We had some elections last Tuesday – no big.
Just kidding! It was a huge night, with 84 Victory Fund endorsed candidates winning on Election Night. 113 Victory Fund candidates have won in 2019 so far.
Some of the biggest highlights: six trans candidates won, including Danica Roem in Virginia and Holly Ryan in Massachusetts. Boston also elected their first LGBTQ woman to the City Council, Indianapolis tripled LGBTQ representation on the City Council, and of course: the Virginia legislature flipped, helped by our LGBTQ incumbents.
We also added a new slate of LGBTQ mayors, a cherry on top for the Year of the Lesbian Mayor.
We’ve achieved Rainbow Wave 2.0 – and made history everywhere! Check out the full results here.
ELECTION NIGHT: RESULTS PENDING
Ok, almost everywhere. We’re still waiting for some results – including various recounts and runoffs in the works.
Alejandra St. Guillen has called for a recount for her At-Large seat on the Boston City Council, and there’s only ten votes separating her from victory.
In Florida, David Richardson is moving to a runoff for Miami Beach Commissioner.
And in one of the most exciting races of the year, Spotlight candidate Eliz Markowitz is headed to a runoff. If you want to help flip House District 28 in Texas and start a Texas Rainbow Wave for 2020, head to Eliz’s page to volunteer!

2020 IS HERE!
With most of the 2019 elections wrapped, it's now time to dive headfirst into 2020. No resting here!
Get to know one of our newest Game Changer candidates, John Blair! He’s in the running to be the first openly LGBTQ person elected to Congress from New Mexico.
Meanwhile, Pete Buttigieg just released a sweeping economic plan to the tune of $1.6 trillion, with money dedicated to affordable housing, child care and college affordability.
There’s been a lot of buzz around Pete lately – especially when it comes to certain voting blocks. But as Jonathan Capehart writes, LGBTQ candidates can win any voter.
Team Pete is still campaigning hard, launching a new ad that reclaims Ronald Reagan’s famous “Morning in America”. Think he’d mind?

MOMENT OF ZEN
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Karl Frisch, who also made LGBTQ history in Fairfax County, VA last Tuesday. He and Victory Fund incumbent Adam Ebbin celebrated together!
Ali Brown – now the first openly LGBTQ woman elected to the indianapolis City Council – posted her reaction to winning. Grab the tissues and give it a watch:
