We must dedicate ourselves to continue the fight for justice that Dr. King devoted himself to.
Team,
Today, as we celebrate the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, so much of Dr. King’s legacy is still being developed, challenged, and pushed forward today.
Reflecting on the important contributions that Dr. King made in our fight for equality and justice, we are reminded of the work we still have yet to do. In the Senate today, we continue to see archaic and antiquated procedures, such as the filibuster, implemented to block racial justice legislation. Across the nation, GOP-controlled state legislatures continue to pass restrictive measures that make it more difficult for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color voters to cast a ballot.
We must dedicate ourselves to continue the fight for justice that Dr. King devoted himself to.
In honor of his legacy, I’m fully committed to working as a U.S. Senator to abolish the filibuster, pass legislation to protect the right to vote for Black and brown voters nationwide, and continue to work towards the vision of equality that Dr. King so strongly believed in.
It’s time for a new kind of leadership in Wisconsin. Gillian built her career on integrity, advocacy, and action, and she’s ready to put that skill set to work in the U.S. Senate! It's going to take all of us working together to defeat Ron Johnson to get her there, but if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
