Ohio Democrats,
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is not just a day to share the brilliant things that Dr. King said in his speeches or to think back on the work he did during the civil rights movement.
Today serves as a day to volunteer in your community, a time to reflect on how far our country has come in the fight for equality, and a chance to recommit to fighting for a better future for all.
Dr. King once said, "Give us the vote." It seems like a simple statement, but a statement that carries huge meaning today. As we honor Dr. King's legacy today, we must recommit to the fight to ensure our voices are heard -- especially the voices of disenfranchised voters. We must fight to ensure every eligible voter has equal access to the polls. And we must fight to ensure our congressional maps are nonpartisan and fair.
That's how we're committed to honoring Dr. King's legacy at the Ohio Democratic Party in 2022 and beyond.
