John,
Today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, activists around the country are taking action to pass voting rights and calling for “no celebration without legislation.”
Senators must choose if they stand with the legacy of Dr. King, or with the forces trying to silence Black and Brown voters across the country.
This year, Martin Luther King III and the King family are calling for Americans to take action, and demanding “no celebration without legislation.”
“The filibuster is not some time-honored tradition that must be preserved to protect democracy. And even if it were, what good is a filibuster when preserving it will destroy the democracy it’s supposed to protect?” said Arndrea Waters King.
We couldn’t agree more.
Thank you for all you do,
-HAZMAT America
