I had a busy week in Washington, D.C. including several votes in the U.S. House of Representatives! I was honored to receive the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Friend of the Family Award. I am proud to be a voice for conservative values and principles.

Lesko Calls Out Biden for Transferring COVID-19 Funds to House Illegals

In a letter to President Biden, I questioned why he diverted funding meant for COVID-19 testing for Americans to care for illegal immigrants. It is especially concerning given the surge of COVID-19 cases and the lack of testing available. Biden promised to improve COVID-19 testing a year ago. Instead, he took $850 million from COVID-19 testing to pay for housing for illegal immigrants who were incentivized to enter our nation by his open border policies.

Lesko Stands Up for Parents Concerned About Their Children's Education

This week, I signed on to Congresswoman Lisa McClain’s (R-MI-10) letter to President Biden about Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona secretly soliciting the National School Boards Association letter that compared parents who were voicing concern at their school board meetings to domestic terrorists. This is unacceptable! Parents have the right to voice their concerns and be involved in their children’s education.

GET THE FACTS: Inflation Hits 7%—Highest Since 1982

In December, inflation hit its HIGHEST rate in 40 years and average hourly earnings dropped 2.4%! Meanwhile, President Biden’s priority is talking about a federal takeover of elections and ending a filibuster that he used to defend. Combatting inflation is clearly not a priority for Biden. Within a year, the Biden Administration has caused a slew of issues, including empty grocery shelves, chaos at our southern border, high gas prices, skyrocketing crime, and a COVID-19 testing shortage.

Austin from our office presented a Congressional Recognition to Teri and Steve Vogel, founders of Thrive Arizona. Thrive Arizona supports families across the Valley through reunification processes and services for foster youth who have aged out of the foster system.

Monica from our office attended a ribbon cutting for YogaSix in Peoria, AZ.

Austin from our office dropped off books from the Library of Congress’ Surplus Book Program to Desert Valley Elementary School in Glendale, AZ! Visit my website to learn more and request books for your school.

Casework Highlight

A constituent reached out to my office because she was not receiving her retirement payments, even though she had submitted all her paperwork. Our office reached out to the Railroad Retirement Board, which resulted in her retirement benefits being released.

Encouraging Story

I am pleased to share this story about a Phoenix Police Officer donating her kidney to a 10-year-old girl. Officer Jackie Ravelo was a perfect match for Lily Kopp. Two years after the successful surgery, Officer Ravelo and Kopp were finally able to meet. It’s great to see this example of people stepping up to help others during difficult times.
