It’s like he doesn’t even care about hiding it anymore.
First, Kevin McCarthy said he would never allow members of his party to cooperate with investigations into January 6th.
Then, Kevin did everything he could to stop the committee from forming and even threatened to create his own committee filled with likely sympathizers of the violent mob that attempted to overthrow our government.
Now, Kevin is saying that if the Republicans take back the House this year, he’ll remove top Democrats from their committees — and is refusing to appear before the January 6th committee after he was asked to do so.
Folks, this is what authoritarianism looks like. This is what we are up against.

I talk a lot about Kevin McCarthy in emails like this one — yes, because I’m running to become the Democratic nominee in our district to go up against him in November.
But I also talk about him because it’s important to shed light on his hypocrisy, on his lies, and on his downright failure to actually fight for the people of our district and our country.
I’m not just running against him — I’m running for the people of the Central Valley.
I’m running to support our veterans. I’m running to fight for policies like Medicare For All, to take real action on climate, to end economic and racial disparities in education, to fight like hell for our unions, and so much more.
It is shameful to see the ways in which he has failed us.
He voted against sending payments to working families through the Childcare Tax Credit, he voted against getting relief to small businesses through the American Rescue Plan, and he voted against cleaning up our environment when he voted against the Build Back Better Act. And that’s just in the past year!
Instead of fighting for the people he’s supposed to represent, he’s fighting on behalf of the most extreme members of his party and threatening to remove top Democrats from their committees if he becomes Speaker.
