Here is the truth, folks,

I'm doing everything I can to fight to change the filibuster rules so we could pass voting rights legislation.

But right now, the odds are stacked against us in getting reforms through.

I’m not trying to squash your hope, but I also don’t want to promise more than I can and set false expectations. While it’s disappointing that not all of my Democratic colleagues are willing to come to an agreement, it also reminds me how important our work is this year.

Because the truth is, with just a few more victories in 2020, we wouldn’t be stuck having this debate with any individual senator being able to veto the entire Democratic agenda.

This November, we need to defend and expand our slim Democratic majority in the Senate. With the Senate split 50-50, we can’t risk losing a single seat. And as you can tell, it’s crucial we elect a strong Democratic majority so we can abolish the filibuster, expand the Supreme Court, codify Roe v. Wade, and more.

It’s imperative that we help new and incumbent Democrats get elected so we can finally pass comprehensive, progressive reform for all Americans.
