Hey team, it’s Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09). Tackling the climate crisis. Finding a way to relieve student debt. Defining access to health care and the ballot box. Preparing young people for the future of work by providing the right resources to thrive in a technologically-advanced world. How we approach these issues are what will determine what kind of country we are going to be now, and the country that will be passed on to the next generation. Throughout 2021, my Future Forum colleagues and I worked tirelessly to ensure our work in the House aligned with finding solutions to all these issues. But if we cannot hold our razor-thin majority in November, we will not be able to continue our work and keep delivering for the American people.
In 2021, Future Forum members were instrumental in passing bills that uplifted Americans. We sent to President Biden’s desk the American Rescue Plan, providing economic relief to those most affected by the pandemic, and sent the Build Back Better Act to the Senate, addressing the needs of working families such as affordable childcare, lower prescription drugs, and extending the child tax credit. Making bold moves such as these were challenging. Republicans in the House held firm to their most effective strategy: Obstruction. Thank you, Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09)
