John,

Ryan Zinke, the former Interior Secretary, wants to return to Washington, D.C. to represent a new Montana district in Congress — but the ethically challenged Zinke has significant explaining to do.

In his latest financial disclosure report, Zinke disclosed he made $220,000 as a ConocoPhillips consultant, one of the largest oil and fossil gas producers in the country.

He’s also been working as a consultant or adviser for US Trinity, a gas pipeline company; Oasis Petroleum, an oil exploration company; and the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance, an oil and gas coalition.

After leaving the Interior Department at the end of 2018, while facing several federal department probes, it’s clear Zinke has spent his time lucratively cashing in on his government work and contacts.

Although influence peddling is nothing new in Washington, D.C., Zinke’s actions are especially egregious, particularly for someone working to come back to Congress.

Now, Zinke says he’s ready to return to the House to represent Montana’s 1st Congressional District, a seat created after the 2020 census.

John, we’ve seen this movie before. Zinke wants to continue using federal office to promote and assist Big Fossil companies. He’s not interested in representing hardworking Montanans. His only interest is in furthering the profits of Big Fossil.

We can’t let Zinke return to Congress. His presence would be a further blight on a House of Representatives already sullied by far-right extremists. Will you pitch in immediately to help us stop Zinke in his tracks?
