Asking for something a little different today.

Friends -

At midnight tonight, we’ll be halfway through the month of January, and we’ve got some good news and some bad news:

THE GOOD NEWS is that as of last night, we’re on pace to match our total number of contributions we received in December, which you may remember was a big FEC deadline month. That’s a remarkable way to start the year, and it’s all thanks to grassroots supporters all across the country.

THE BAD NEWS is that our average donation amount from those contributions has dropped — considerably. By more than $10 a piece.

Now, that may not seem a huge deal, but over the course of a month, or a quarter, or a year, it all adds up fast, and we need to act quickly if we’re going to get back on track.

So, with our donations keeping pace but our average plummeting, we have two options:

  1. LOTS more donations from a LOT more people.
  2. Donations made in even slightly higher amounts.

Usually when we ask our supporters to make their first online contribution, we start by asking for $3. But we have a fundraising gap to make up quickly if we’re going to make 2022 our movement’s biggest year yet, so we need to ask you for something big today:

Can you make a $5 contribution to stand with Ed Markey before midnight tonight? We wouldn’t ask if it weren’t so important that we keep pace.

CONTRIBUTE

Each contribution we receive goes directly toward our campaign’s efforts building our progressive movement and growing support nationwide for the ideas that make it so special.

That means everything Ed fights for in the Senate — from a Green New Deal and climate action, to abolishing the filibuster and expanding the Supreme Court — is powered by you.

Thanks in advance for adding your support today if you’re able.

In solidarity,

Team Markey
