It has been 136 days since Texans have been able to fully access abortion
care.

Banning access to abortion doesn’t stop abortions. It just means that
patients are forced to go to extraordinary lengths to receive care or seek
out dangerous alternatives. Every day that S.B. 8, the most extreme
abortion ban in the country, remains in effect, Texans face irreversible
damage that has rippling effects across the nation. 

We must continue to remain vigilant in the face of attacks from all sides.

Texas already has the highest maternal mortality rate in the nation, and
for Black folks, that rate is three to four times higher than for white
Texans. Abortion bans and any restrictions to reproductive care are racist
and cause an undue burden on people of color, low-income communities, and
working families.

The Supreme Court should have blocked this blatantly unconstitutional law
when it first went into effect and now we are already seeing other
Republican-led state legislatures attempt to copy and paste this
unconstitutional law.

Our reproductive rights hang in the balance as we await the Dobbs vs.
Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling with a court system stacked by
the Trump administration. Congress must act now to protect abortion rights
before a potentially devastating decision.

We’ll level with you — the fight ahead is an uphill battle, but our
movement is strong enough to make the journey ahead. [ [link removed] ]Will you

Next Saturday, January 22, will mark the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
We can’t allow our progress to be pushed back. We must bring our movement
forward to honor reproductive rights for all.
