Folks,
I want to tell you about my family and the reason I’m in this fight to keep Nevada blue for all working families. Will you chip in $10 and then read my story below?
I grew up in a working-class family, as one of eight siblings. (Yep, you read that right -- there were 8 of us!)
My father was a military veteran who worked at a steel plant and my mother had her hands full raising me and my seven siblings.
Growing up in a big, working-class family taught me that hard-working families can succeed when we have institutions that uplift everyone -- not just those at the top.
When I was young, both my parents were denied health coverage because of preexisting conditions. My mom suffered a heart attack just one month before she qualified for Medicare, and my parents nearly lost their home as the medical bills piled up.
Watching them continue to provide for their family in the face of so many hardships instilled in me the values I later built my campaign on: the cooperation to build a strong team, the humility to listen and learn from others, and the dedication to give your work all you’ve got.
When I first ran for Congress in the most competitive district in Nevada, my mission was to fight for hardworking families and with the help of this team, we won.
The people of Nevada’s 3rd District are at the heart of everything I do. I know how important it is to fight for issues like health care and child care, because those issues impacted my family too.
Now, I’m facing reelection, and in order to keep this seat blue and continue fighting for Nevada’s hardworking families, I’m going to need your support. Together, we can continue to fight for progress in Battleground Nevada. Will you chip in right now and support my campaign?
Thank you for reading,
Susie Lee
