I have to be honest—the past three years have been hard. The current administration has created one of the most hostile political climates of my lifetime, and the attacks on our communities keep coming.
 
But what has kept me going, and what has kept the Center for Popular Democracy going, are the community leaders I fight with every day, and you. Together, with your support, our network of passionate, dedicated organizers in the trenches across the country continues to win critical campaigns and policies—for immigrant rights, a livable minimum wage, housing justice, quality education, and more. And together, we have shifted the narrative of what’s possible in times like these… and changed the lives of millions of people.
 
Our network achieved inspiring wins across the country, including raising the minimum wage and winning other pro-worker policies in 7 states for over 3.2 million workers; expanding access to the ballot for over 8.8 million people; supporting the people of Puerto Rico amid corruption and a fiscal crisis; and organizing immigrant families as they face abuse and deportation. With a broad coalition, we won commitments from big banks to stop financing private prisons and detention centers, and led a bold new national conversation on Medicare for All. We couldn’t have done it without you.


This work has given me energy and hope, and I know our collective power can change the country in 2020. That’s why we developed and ratified our federal policy platform–which we’re now calling The Freedom Platform–to set a bold, progressive political agenda in this crucial year head. With over 600,000 member-organizers in the CPD Network, we have the power to define the debate in the coming year by moving all candidates on the issues that matter to our communities.[Will you sign on to the platform and stand with us to make 2020 matter?]([link removed])
