Friend,

Thirty-three years ago, Jeff Sessions was denied a federal judgeship due to concerns about his racist ideologies. Despite his history of racist tendencies, Jeff Sessions was elected to the U.S. Senate, and then appointed to be Trump’s Attorney General.

Last night, Sessions announced he will try and take back his former Senate seat in Alabama from Democrat Doug Jones.

Much like Joni Ernst, the former Attorney General has proven himself to be anti-immigrant, anti-abortion, and anti-LGBTQ+ rights. In contrast, Doug Jones has been a champion for civil rights, both in Alabama and across the country.

An integral part of taking back the Senate in 2020 depends on Doug Jones keeping his seat. Donate today to help stop Sessions, oust Ernst, and protect civil rights.

In 1986, Coretta Scott King warned Congress that electing Sessions to higher office would demean the legacy of her late husband, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Since that letter was written, Sessions has continued to rise in power, serving 20 years in the Senate before serving as Attorney General under President Donald Trump. He has already caused enough damage.

And now, it’s on us not to let him cause any more.

The bottom line is, if Jeff Sessions was too racist to be a federal judge in 1986, he is certainly unfit to be a Senator today. Chip in what you can today to make sure we keep integrity and the protection of civil rights as key values in the Senate.

Thank you,

Team Mauro
