According to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Education Fund [[link removed]] , a record number of Latinos served in elected office in 2021! Over the past two decades, the number of Latino elected officials has grown nearly 75 percent, however, there’s a catch: Latinos still make up less than 2% of all elected officials in the U.S. While that’s awfully low, we’re proud to work alongside partners across the country to keep building an inclusive democracy, empowering more Latino leaders and all New American leaders to run, win, and lead!

As President Biden said earlier this week, the time has come to confront some hard truths. One of those truths is that our right to vote is under attack.
In 2021 alone, 19 states enacted 34 bills that make it harder to vote, with even more anti-voter bills already being discussed this year. Our democracy can't survive without protecting the right to vote [[link removed]] . The Senate must come together and take whatever actions are necessary to protect our right to vote. If they fail, it will surely put them on the wrong side of history.
