I'm very mad. I think you will be too.
Hello,
Do you love animals? Do you care about protecting progress that has been made for laboratory animals?
If your answer to both of those questions is YES, I hope you will take 30 seconds right now to sign onto our new taxpayer petition.
Long story short:
- CAUGHT RED HANDED: Our investigators just discovered that the NIH has been BREAKING THE LAW by shipping your tax dollars overseas to foreign labs without animal care committees.
- THE LAW IS CLEAR: Any lab that conducts experiments on animals using American taxpayer funds via the NIH MUST have an animal care committee.
- WHY IT MATTERS: These oversight committees — while far from perfect — review federally-funded experiments to assess non-animal alternatives and ensure basic animal welfare. Sounds pretty crucial for preventing wasteful spending on animal experiments, right?
- FOREIGN ANIMAL LAB LOOPHOLE: Horrific and inhumane animal tests that would NEVER be approved in the U.S. are simply exported to countries with little or no animal welfare laws (like China, Russia, and Tunisia). And with no animal care committee to look out for them, animals are tortured to the fullest extent… without penalty.
Angry? Us too.
That’s why we’re suing the NIH on your behalf.
But we need to collect AT LEAST 50,000 more taxpayer signatures in the next 48 hours to make a legitimate case!
So, if you don’t want the NIH to continue using your tax money to pay the salaries of the world’s worst animal abusers, please follow this secure link immediately to add your name in support of our new lawsuit.
Sincerely,

P.S. To win our lawsuit, hold NIH accountable, and protect lab animals abroad, we must show Congress and the media how strongly taxpayers like you feel about closing the Foreign Animal Lab Loophole. Please make your voice heard by signing onto our petition today!
