John: We were going through our records and saw that you haven't had a chance to pitch in to the NDRC yet.
Because of our financial supporters, the NDRC has been able to help elect Democrats, support the creation of independent redistricting commissions, and fight for fair maps in critical states across the country.
Our work is getting noticed! President Obama said that we've "been the difference… between a fair shot for the American people and a system that cuts the American people out." And The Washington Post reports that "Surprisingly, there has been a redistricting turnaround."
But our fight isn't over yet. There are many states where maps haven't been adopted yet, and in states where Republicans have gerrymandered, the NDRC’s affiliates are supporting voters in lawsuits. On top of that, important federal legislation is still pending. So there's a lot of work left -- which makes our mid-month goal a must-hit.
