Winning back the Senate, House, and White House took an organizing effort that was years in the making. Facing a global pandemic, a sabotaged Postal Service, and Donald Trump’s public refusal to commit to the peaceful transfer of power, voters across the country went to the polls in droves to elect a Democratic president and Democratic majorities in Congress.

Cory understands the urgency of this moment, with our democracy teetering on collapse under the weight of Republicans’ assault on voting rights, Mitch McConnell’s cynical abuse of the Senate filibuster, and Donald Trump’s Big Lie. Faith in Washington to act on and solve big problems is being tested.

Cory is working around the clock on legislation to reinstate the expanded Child Tax Credit, invest in clean energy solutions, expand affordable child care options, and lower prescription drug prices to accomplish more of President Biden’s agenda.

And perhaps most important of all, Cory is also urging his fellow Democratic colleagues to alter the filibuster rules to pass voting rights legislation with a simple majority in the Senate. There’s too much on the line for the Senate to fail at stopping the GOP’s new wave of voter suppression laws. We must protect the right to vote.
