Republican operatives have been funding a coordinated push to jam the phones of Democratic congressional offices Indivisibles,
BIG news: the New York Times just reported that Republican operatives have been funding a coordinated robocall campaign to jam the phones of Democratic congressional offices. Their goal? Use robocalls to identify right-wing voters who’d call Democratic members of Congress, speak out against impeachment, and prevent other constituents from accessing government phone lines. They’ve made over 11,000 calls so far -- and we have to fight back.
But they can’t beat us at our own game -- Indivisibles know how to make our voices heard, and we’ve got years of practice pressuring representatives. Right now, we’re using HubDialer, our super-effective calling tool, to connect constituents in key states directly to their senators to get them to commit to a fair and transparent impeachment trial. (And to be clear: this is real live activists calling real live people -- not the automated calls and texts that the GOP is running! More info on how it works below.)
How do we know this will work? Because it already has. In 2017, we used the same style of program to mobilize Indivisibles to back the Affordable Care Act -- and we won! With your help, we can do it again this year.
We’ve budgeted $145,000 to keep the HubDialer impeachment program up and running, and a generous group of donors has agreed to match all gifts up to $15,000 to support it. So if you’re ready to fight back against the GOP’s calling machine, please give today:
Donate $10 right now to keep our calling initiative moving and support Indivisible Action’s work on impeachment and more -- a generous group of donors is matching every donation up to $15,000, so your donation will go twice as far.
Republicans have already made 11,000 calls to congressional offices, and they’re not stopping anytime soon. If we want any chance of generating enough calls to fight back, we need to dial 1.1 MILLION voters. Here’s how HubDialer works:
Indivisible activists like you sign up for a calling shift. During your shift, you’ll use our calling tool to connect with progressive voters in key states. You’ll talk with them about impeachment, and if they’re ready to call their senator, you can connect them directly to the Senate office number with just one click of a button. It’s an excellent way to multiply your impact after you’ve called your own senators, especially if they’re particularly good or particularly bad on impeachment themselves.
With this tool on our side, and the nationwide activist movement to put it to use, we can counteract the GOP’s big calling drive -- and we can show our senators just how critical it is that they work to protect democracy.
Republicans were counting on the impeachment fight to turn out their base in elections around the country earlier this week, but we showed them what we’re made of: progressives are fired up about impeachment and holding elected officials accountable. The grassroots movement we’ve built has already done amazing things, and we’re getting to work making sure Trump can’t get away with all his crimes.
But we can’t do it without you. To build a movement like this that’s powered by the people, we need to be funded by the people too. So we count on individual gifts from people like you -- and right now, we have donors who are matching every gift you make. Please, pitch in $10 right now to keep pushing calls to Senate offices and building a strong progressive movement -- your impact will be doubled up to $15,000.
