This week, President Biden endorsed what I and this grassroots team have been urging for "months": reforming the filibuster to pass voting rights legislation.

In the wake of a widespread, coordinated, GOP-led assault on voting rights, this endorsement from the President couldn't be more urgent. Republicans have already introduced more than 440 voter suppression bills and passed dozens into law – shutting out millions of lawful voters from the polls in states like Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

The pathway before us is clear: Pass federal legislation that protects every American's right to vote, or uphold an arcane Senate rule while Republicans ramp up voter suppression.

I've made my choice, Friend. The Senate – once the world's greatest deliberative body – is broken. The Republican Party has consolidated around stalling tactic after stalling tactic, including the filibuster, to obstruct the will of the majority. When we can't even pass legislation that protects an individual's constitutional right to vote, then something bold must be done.

But here's the thing. Some of my Senate colleagues are still uncommitted to reforming the filibuster to pass voting rights legislation. After the President's new clarion call, we're closer than ever to making it happen, but it's going to take grassroots action like never before from this team and from you, Friend.

If you believe the Senate should change the filibuster to protect voting rights, I'm asking you to click here and add your thoughts right now. I'm counting on 10,000 Democrats to speak out at this urgent moment before 11:59 p.m. tonight.

We can make this happen. Thank you for doing your part.
