Hi John — I just wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself. I’m Ronnie, Lauren’s senior advisor and former campaign manager, and I’m so grateful to have you on this team. I’ll bring you up to speed:

Back in 2018, we helped flip the House when Lauren defeated a four-term Republican incumbent and made history by becoming the youngest Black woman to ever serve in Congress. Two years later, we faced an avalanche of right-wing attacks but persevered, reelecting Lauren in one of the closest races in the entire country — we won by just 5,374 votes.

We won those races because we built a campaign centered around the issues that matter most to hard working families here in Illinois: quality, affordable health care, good paying jobs, and an economy that works for everyone — not just corporations and billionaires. Lauren’s been putting in the hard work in Congress to make progress on these issues and more ever since.

Now, we’re gearing up for yet another tough election battle with a new challenge — a brand new congressional map for IL-14. That means that 70% of the voters we’ll be talking to are brand new, and have never had Lauren’s name on their ballot before.

I’ll be honest, we’ve got our work cut out for us. It’s going to take a whole lot of resources to connect with these new voters and share Lauren’s strong record in Congress. But I’m confident that together, this grassroots team is capable of making history once again.
