Choosing to run for re-election was simple: We have more work to do.
In the 117th Congress, I was able to secure positions as the Co-Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, and the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Moderation. With the Steel Caucus, I am proud to say that we’ve made big strides for the steel industry of Northwest Indiana, and advanced the importance of Buy America requirements that protect our domestic steel industry from overseas competition.
Through the Veterans Affairs Committee, I authored legislation that has been signed into law and ensures veterans receive crucial benefits. I appreciate the consistent input from veterans of Northwest Indiana and how our relationship leads to this type of major achievement.
I also cast votes for the American Rescue Plan and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment legislation packages. These laws are already bringing massive benefits to Northwest Indiana through economic growth, investments in our infrastructure, and improvements to our quality of life.
But that’s just the beginning, friends. We can achieve even more in 2022 and beyond.
