Folks,
Your Democratic House and Senate majorities have been fighting to pass voting rights legislation for a full year – only to have the Senate’s Republican minority filibuster every piece of voting rights legislation we bring forward.
Because Republicans know that when more people have access to the ballot, they lose.
That’s why they aren’t going to do a single thing to prevent the slew of voting rights restrictions being enacted across the country. They know that if they want to regain majorities in Congress, they need to suppress the vote and gerrymander their way to victory.
In other words, they need to cheat. And they’re comfortable doing so.
My fellow House Democrats and I are doing everything in our power to get voting rights legislation to President Biden’s desk so he can sign it into law.
That’s why it’s so disappointing to see Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema refusing to take action to end the filibuster. We can’t let this archaic Senate procedure continue to get in the way of our progress for the American people.
