Folks,

I was proud to cast my vote for the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act yesterday – a historic piece of legislation that would prohibit discriminatory voter suppression laws and strengthen our democracy.

For far too long Republicans have tried to rig elections in their favor through partisan gerrymandering and voter suppression laws, and enough is enough.

Voters should be given the right to vote at their convenience in fair and accessible elections.

While passing this bill in the House is a victory, The Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act faces a tough battle ahead in the Senate.

Republicans have opposed and filibustered all voting rights legislation in this Congress so far, and unfortunately, this time around won’t be too different. But President Biden is committed to finding a way forward – no matter what it takes.

My priority as your member of Congress is ensuring everyone has a voice in our government. Will you chip in $25 or more today towards my re-election campaign so I can continue fighting on the frontlines for our democracy?

Our democracy is fragile, and we must do all that we can to protect it.
