Critical Resistance's Prisoner Solidarity Phone Line
is looking for volunteers in 2022!

As a political organization working to abolish the prison industrial complex (PIC), Critical Resistance (CR) has prioritized accepting collect calls from prisoners at our offices for years. Phone calls have been a vital method of communication and connection with imprisoned people inside since CR's beginning. In 2020, we expanded our phone line system to include a network of volunteers nationally to accept calls remotely on behalf of CR.

CR's Prisoner Solidarity Phone Line works to foster strong, principled and mutually-beneficial relationships with prisoners across the PIC’s cages as a way to break cycles of isolation, stay informed on conditions inside, connect imprisoned people with CR's work and campaigns, and ensure that our work is grounded in the vision and needs of those most impacted by the PIC.
Want to volunteer?
Join CR's 2-Part Phone Line Training Series for new volunteers!

*We ask for at least a six-month commitment for all volunteers to participate in the phone lines.
