Team MediaJustice Is Growing!
We're thrilled to announce that Teresa Basilio Gaztambide has joined the MediaJustice staff as our Network Strategies Director! Teresa will work alongside Membership Organizer Adrian Martinez to lead the long term strategy, vision, and coordination of the MediaJustice Network.
Teresa comes to us with tremendous experience within the media justice movement. As the founder and director of Resilient Just Technologies (an Allied Media Project Sponsored Project) and as deputy director of New America's Resilient Communities Programs, Teresa has been working in collaboration with communities in New York and Puerto Rico to co-design, build, and maintain weather-resistant, locally controlled wifi networks, and to support grassroots efforts rooted in self-determination and community building. Prior to that, she was the co-executive director of MediaJusticeNetwork member Global Action Project, where she helped develop the media capacities and skills of youth most affected by injustice.
With Teresa's leadership, and in partnership with our member organizations, the MediaJustice Network is poised to continue building the power of communities of color and other vulnerable groups to protect and secure our digital civil rights.
