Dear John,

I just wanted to reach out and let you know about my new blog. I wrote this blog to round up the festive events campaign ([link removed]) and to let all our supporters know quite how successful it was and to say a huge thank you for all your support.

A huge number of you reported events to us and an even bigger number of you sent emails asking companies to rethink there plans to use animals in this way. The response was amazing!

** Event numbers
------------------------------------------------------------
We tracked 252 events, 51 of these didn’t plan to use any animals this time and a further 62 events didn’t go ahead at all. This is really goes to show how the tides are turning against animal abuse and the exploitation of animals over Christmas time.

54 events were reported to us by our wonderful supporters and 2002 emails were sent, with your help we saw 13 cancellations of events using live animals.

Despite our best efforts 2 events went ahead, these were Baguley Football Club who used reindeer and Salisbury Cathedral who used camels and a donkey in their nativity on Christmas eve. Botrh ignored the hundreds of emails sent by our supporters asking htem to do the right thing and go animal free for Christmas.

** Lets See More Success!
------------------------------------------------------------
Christmas seems a distant past now but as we go further into 2022, we are already planning how we can make this years festive events campaign even more successful. I am sure with you by our side we can achieve this.

We want to see an end to the use of live animals in events and we want to see an end to this industry that trades in exploitation and puts profit before lives.

** Hope for 2022
------------------------------------------------------------
We here at Freedom for Animals are excited and hopeful about the coming year and what can be achieved for the animals that are currently held in captivity in the UK.
