Dear Comrade,

It's been 1 year since our victory preventing fracking our drinking water, and in typical Akron DSA fashion, we're having a busy January leading the fight for the working class. Check out the ABJ and Spectrum news coverage of our Vigil for Democracy. If you missed our follow-up Politics, Conspiracy Theories, and What to Believe call, you can check out the lively discussion on YouTube. If you're interested in work in Ohio around voting rights, please attend this Ohio Coalition meeting 1/16 at 7PM.

We also want to flag that TODAY is the last day to apply for membership in the Democratic Socialist Labor Commission (DSLC) in time to vote in our upcoming steering committee election. Any DSA member who has engaged with our strike support work is eligible (please note this work in the linked form).

We have a busy few weeks coming up for our chapter, and there are many ways to get involved! Check out our other upcoming events:

Power to Heal: Medicare for All and the Civil Rights Revolution viewing and discussion with Single Payer Action Network (SPAN) on 1/15 at 10 AM on Zoom

General Meeting on 1/20 at 7 PM on Zoom

New Member Orientation on 1/23 at 2 PM on Zoom

Political Education Committee Meeting on 1/23 at 7 PM on Zoom

Book Club: Lenin's "Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism" on 1/27 at 7 PM on Zoom

In solidarity,

Akron DSA
