Here at World BEYOND War, we are also growing a global, grassroots movement that transcends nationalistic borders. With members in 175 countries and counting, we're building a network of committed anti-war activists, peace advocates, and educators who are coming together to start up World BEYOND War chapters, divest their towns from war, and close down polluting, neocolonial military bases in their communities.

A world beyond war is not going to happen overnight. We know the stats: That the governments of the world spend $2 trillion a year on war and ongoing preparations for war. That the U.S. military is the largest institutional consumer of oil in the world and the largest global landholder with 800 military bases in 80 countries. When we talk about a world beyond war, we're talking about making systemic change, a revolution of institutional, policy, and cultural shifts.
