CT-05 is a 50/50 split district with an almost equal number of Democratic and Republican voters. GOP strategists have their eye on this seat every cycle because they see it as their best opportunity to pick up a seat in Connecticut. This year the entire GOP – from Washington and national dark money PACs down to the most local level – are aligning to flip CT-05 and defeat Jahana. They see how effective and inclusive she is, and they don’t like it.

But here’s the thing, John: With the real work Jahana is doing in Washington, the only chance Republicans have to flip this seat red is with divisive rhetoric and distorted facts. They will double down on attacking Jahana for doing her job and lifting all people up, for passing the Build Back Better Act and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to bring critical resources back to CT-05.
