Friends,
It seems fairly straightforward that a secretary of education should put students first. But nearly three years into Betsy DeVos' tenure, she continues to put the interests of corporations ahead of our nation's students.
Just last week, a judge fined Secretary DeVos and her Department of Education $100,000 for violating a court order that she cease collecting on borrowers of student loans for a now-defunct for-profit college.
This isn't the first time Betsy DeVos has let for-profit colleges get away with pulling a fast one on students – and she'll continue her reckless behavior until she is removed as secretary of education. We can't let her actions go unchecked, and that's why I need your help:
Will you sign my petition declaring the American people deserve a secretary of education who will put our students first? I'm hoping to gather another 275 signatures before midnight, and I'm missing your name:
The American people deserve a secretary of education who actually looks after our students. We can't stop speaking out until that happens. Thank you for adding your name.
