Happy New Year – I hope that this note finds you managing well at another challenging time in the pandemic.
Here at Voting Rights Lab, we're gearing up for the start of another legislative session and the opportunity it brings to advance access to the ballot and defend against attacks on our democracy.
Our team has been hard at work categorizing and summarizing new bills for the 2022 session. We wanted to make sure you knew that 2022 prefiled and carryover bills are live in our State Voting Rights Tracker. ([link removed])
We’re only a couple of weeks into 2022, but our team is already tracking over 1,400 voting bills. Of those, there are over 700 bills that improve voter access and election administration and about 300 bills that interfere with it. The remainder are either neutral, mixed, or unclear in their impact.
You can use the site’s new toggle feature (see below) to explore bills from 2021 or from the current session.
