team, on Tuesday, I had the honor to travel with President Biden on Air Force One to Georgia to participate in his history-making speech on voting rights. In Atlanta, on the campus of Morehouse College, the President committed to doing whatever it takes to get voting rights through the Senate, including breaking the filibuster so the U.S. Congress can pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.

Yesterday, I voted to once again pass these bills through the U.S. House and send them to the U.S. Senate for deliberation.

If you know my story, you know that voting rights have been and continue to be central to my fight in Georgia’s very diverse 7th district.

- When I ran in 2018, we faced the largest single-day voter purge in the history of the country. We faced exact match and signature mismatch policies.

- Then I had to litigate for weeks after the election to make sure that we counted every eligible provisional and absentee ballot. One-third of the absentee ballots thrown out in the State of Georgia came out of Gwinnett County, the largest county in my district.

- When I ran again in 2020, during the primary voters had to wait in catastrophic lines to vote and some showed up to precincts where there were no voting machines available!

- The experience was so rough that during my general election in 2020, we were the only campaign in the country to field our own voter protection team.
I have always cared deeply about voting rights — but as I’ve fought against voting problems and voter suppression over and over again, it has become deeply personal.

As we are waiting for the U.S. Senate to act, we have to recognize that no matter what happens, we must gird ourselves for battle on the ground once again in 2022.

Please donate $5, $10, $15, or whatever you can so we can continue to make sure every voice is heard and every vote is counted in Georgia’s 7th district >>> [link removed]
