Hi John,
Can you imagine having your life turned upside down by a super typhoon? This is what happened to Marinel Ubaldo. At only 16 years old, she lost everything to Super Typhoon Yolanda that destroyed her village along with thousands of others and killed 6300 people.
In 2013, Marinel began demanding the Philippines government take the climate crisis seriously. Marinel is dedicated to ensuring governments around the world confront climate change and tackle its effects on her community, and others like them.
Will you help amplify Marinel’s message and demand the Phillippine Government take immediate action to tackle the climate crisis?

Join Marinel’s calls for climate justice
After one of the deadliest typhoons in history, the government’s response to evacuation and relocation was appalling. Relocation sites lacked basic services like water and electricity. With limited opportunities for people to earn a living, many returned to their original homes, despite these areas still being extremely dangerous.
For years now, Marinel has been working tirelessly to make governments take real action on climate and prevent other families suffering the same fate her own did. Let’s stand with this inspiring young woman.
Email President Duterte to demand that he takes the climate crisis seriously, and that Marinel and her people are helped with safe housing.
