[1]Women's March

John,

This week, we’ve been collecting stories and data from Women’s Marchers
about why they chose to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and the challenges
they faced getting their family and friends vaccinated as well.

We want to
thank the thousands of Women’s Marchers who shared their stories. Your
feedback is critical in helping us understand the issues we face in
combating COVID disinformation and equipping our communities with the
information we need to get as many of us vaccinated.

In just a moment we’re going to share with you the stories and insights we
found in our survey results. [ [link removed] ]We hope that after reading you’ll consider
donating $3 or anything you can to help power our Digital
Defenders program so we can fight back against the COVID disinformation
crisis perpetuated by right-wing extremists.

Women’s March is proud to be one of the only women-led organizations in
existence that trains volunteers how to combat COVID disinformation online
so we can make sure our families are vaccinated, healthy, and secure.

After reading through the responses from Women’s Marchers across the
country, it is clear that we have work to do when it comes to protecting
ourselves and loved ones as we enter the third year of the COVID-19
pandemic.

Here are just some examples of the thousands of personal stories Women’s
Marchers shared with us in our COVID Vaccine Survey:

"A big influence for me is my older sister. My sister has been a nurse
for 5 years and has spent the last two years working in Covid units. She
has seen and gone through so much and watching her go through it all and
hearing the stories of her patients have been heartbreaking and tragic."

"I choose to believe in science and doctors and trust they will do what
is right. I also have many people in my life who are at risk with Covid,
and I lost a member of my family to Covid."

"My best friend refuses to get vaccinated because she doesn’t think the
government should tell her what to do. I have tried repeatedly to
convince her but she insists she is healthy, has a good immune system,
and will not get Covid."

"I was able to convince my son to get vaccinated despite receiving
disinformation that made him hesitant. I shared facts and research with
him, and the mandate helped him hurry his process."

Here are also some insights we found in our survey results:

* 98% of survey takers are currently vaccinated against COVID-19.

* 71% of survey takers have interacted with family members or friends
who were hesitant to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

* The most common reason for hesitation from our family members or
friends about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine is the lack of
information and education around vaccination.

* 65% of survey takers said they’re extremely concerned over the
COVID-19 disinformation crisis.

* Women’s Marchers top concern is protecting elderly family members who
are immunocompromised and young children who are not eligible for the
vaccine.

Your stories help us understand what is important to you and to
unvaccinated people across the country. We cannot fight what we do not
understand and we need to be ready to have those tough conversations armed
with facts and empathy.

It’s going to take all of us working together to combat disinformation in
order to get through this crisis.

John, you can
help make sure our communities have the knowledge they need to feel
comfortable getting vaccinated by helping fund our grassroots organizing
work. [ [link removed] ]Even giving just $5 makes a huge difference to help our team
reach more people through our Digital Defenders program and get our
communities vaccinated.

Thank you,

Women’s March
