Late last year, we passed the Build Back Better Act through the House – a social spending bill that will make expanded Child Tax Credit payments permanent, invest in fighting climate change, lower prescription drug costs, expand Affordable Care Act coverage, and so much more.

But negotiations hit a snag in the Senate, and 2021 ended before this bill crossed the finish line.

Now more than ever – especially in this new phase of the pandemic – we have an opportunity to strengthen our economy like never before, offering everyone the opportunity to compete and earn a good life in America. That’s why as negotiations restart this month, we are pushing to deliver on a Build Back Better Act that includes our top priorities of:

Good policy is good politics. The way voters make decisions in an election year is by reflecting on what their Members of Congress have done for them. Now that we’ve entered a midterm election year, this is our opportunity to demonstrate to swing voters that Democrats can deliver on their priorities just before voters head to the polls.
