Newsletter of the Goethe-Institut Washington

Dear Friends,

We hope that you all had restful and happy holidays, as well as a smooth start to 2022.

Our year begins with great news for movie lovers: each month in 2022, in celebration of a different German-cinema-related birthday, we will offer a virtual screening of a film from the person with the special day. In January, we show Good Bye, Lenin! featuring a number of great performances – among them, German actor Michael Gwisdek. Check out the full list of birthdays in the link below!

Beginning February 4, we present a new discussion series surrounding intersections of design and social impact. Create.Connect.Amplify. presents stories of urgent and creative problem-solving, along with a space to talk about how designers and design's rigorous research and dedication to efficacy can address urgent problems of our current world. Our first installment of the series welcomes Ambica Prakash, founder of Washington, DC-based social impact design agency Eighty2Degrees.
