Team — thank you for the support you’ve shown Ilhan in the past few days. So many of you stepped up after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy brazenly vowed to remove Ilhan from the Foreign Affairs committee if the GOP takes back the majority.

But let’s be clear: This is only the start of what McCarthy will do if Democrats lose the House.

He’s shown time and time again that he’s willing to let hatred and bigotry go unchecked, including when he refused to hold his far-right members accountable for Islamophobic attacks on Ilhan late last year.

And McCarthy’s helped lead the GOP’s smear campaign against Ilhan since the beginning, launching bad-faith attacks to distract from his own party’s hatred and misdeeds. Team, if Republicans win back the majority, he will do everything in his power to try to silence her and water down her influence in the House.

But Ilhan refuses to allow the right-wing to get in the way of her work for progress, whether it’s fighting to further human rights around the world on the Foreign Affairs Committee, or working to cancel student debt and hold corrupt Republicans accountable.

McCarthy’s attacks will only ramp up as we get closer to the election, so it’s critical that we keep up our fundraising so we can fight back and ensure Ilhan stays in Congress, and on her committees — where she belongs.
