Just over a year ago, an armed mob of Donald Trump’s supporters breached the Capitol. My colleagues, staff, and I were forced to hide as they damaged property and threatened lives -- and as the President, who had actively incited the violence, refused to step in.

Then hours later, we returned to the House floor and 139 of my colleagues in the House and 8 of my colleagues in the Senate voted to overturn a free and fair election. 

This vote -- which took place amidst the damage of an attempted coup -- was one of the most crucial in our history; it was a chance to affirm our core democratic principles. Instead, the Sedition Caucus chose to double down on this harmful (and deadly) lie. 

A year later, they’re still in Congress. 

Over the past year, I’ve led the call for accountability -- but the work doesn’t stop now. This year is an election year, which means we have the chance to hold them responsible by voting them out.
