Because of your efforts, on Tuesday of this week, President Biden gave a speech in Georgia where he told this country that the Senate must act now to protect the right to vote.

Senate Majority Leader Schumer has also stated the deadline to hold a vote to reform Senate rules to pass voting rights legislation will be on Monday, Jan 17th — Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

This is the moment! We must hold our leaders to these promises and ensure they act now and do everything in their power to protect our right to vote.

The upcoming holiday is a solemn reminder that the fight to protect the sacred right to vote is far from over – Martin Luther King Jr.’s fight still continues to this day.

Last year, 19 states passed 34 laws putting up deliberate barriers to the ballot box to silence our voices.

In states across the country, extremist lawmakers and dark money groups are hard at work restricting our freedom to vote, using partisan gerrymandering to draw congressional districts that deny people fair representation, and are planning to attempt future election sabotage.

The House of Representatives has answered the call to act, passing a series of bills that would protect and strengthen our democracy, but a year after the failed January 6th insurrection, Senate Democrats have yet to pass a single one of them.

There is real momentum right now to end the filibuster and protect voting rights. Take action now to make sure the Senate does its part.
