Friend – this is one of the most important emails I've ever sent you, because this is one of the most important weeks in our fight to save voting rights in the Senate.

You know as well as I do: State by state, Republicans are systematically working to make it harder to vote. It's cowardly, and it's undemocratic. And every time our Democratic Majority has tried to pass legislation to save voting rights and secure our elections, Republicans have filibustered us.

No more. In the coming days, the Senate will finally debate our voting rights bills. Then every senator will go on the record on whether or not they support protecting the foundation of our democracy. And if Republicans filibuster our voting rights efforts again, we’ll start debating changing the rules of the Senate.

This is all happening before Monday – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. And let’s be clear: this is not going to be easy. But nothing is more urgent right now than protecting our democracy. So I’m going to need your help.
