Hi there,

My name is Greta Carnes, and I’m the National Organizing Director at Pete for America. It’s my job to make sure each state has the organizing team and strategy they need to successfully reach out to voters, spread Pete’s message, and do whatever we need to do on the ground to win.

Jess gave you a rundown of our Marathon State Strategy earlier today, and I’m here to go more in depth on the first part of that plan: establishing a strong ground game. We are building the organizing infrastructure we need to not only win the Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries, but also to win the Super Tuesday states -- and, ultimately, to win the nomination.

Can we count on you to chip in $3 to help us hit our $1,000,000 Marathon States Fund goal by Sunday night so we can enact our winning field strategy?

Since the start of this campaign, our approach to organizing has been ambitious and innovative. We’re doing things differently by investing in relationship-focused organizing, embedding in communities, and making volunteering more accessible.

We’re running a program that modernizes traditional tactics while leaning into peer-to-peer organizing. In doing so, we are bringing new supporters into the fold and solidifying support with a personal touch.

Whether you’re in a red, blue, or purple state, whether you’re part of a rural community, a suburban neighborhood, or an urban city block -- everyone has a home in this campaign. Our program is accessible in every sense of the word: It meets people where they are.

We’ve worked with our volunteer teams to create structures and foundations so they can recruit more volunteers interested in getting to work in their state. We also provide resources so that our leaders feel comfortable training supporters, hosting “Pete-ups,” and conducting outreach at community events.

It’s working. Ninety percent of congressional districts in Super Tuesday states have mobilized volunteer teams, and those volunteer teams have already collected tens of thousands of signatures to help get Pete on the ballot in states across the country.

Our whole team is committed to creating an organizing culture built on respect -- a program that brings out the best in all of us, gives everyone a sense of belonging, and helps us find joy every day in the work we are lucky enough to do.

By building a strong Marathon States Fund, we’ll be able to continue to run a strong campaign through the early states and into the spring and summer to secure the nomination. We know that the Republicans are already stockpiling cash for 2020. We need to stay focused on the end goal of this race: winning. Can we count on you to contribute to the Marathon States Fund now and help ensure we have the strongest ground game in the race?
