Dear Friend,
When we started at the Attorney General’s Office three years ago, our first priority was to align our team of about 500 people around our collective vision and core values. In 2022, we will work to make the case to Colorado that our record and approach to leading the department deserve a second term.
Over the year ahead, we will share more about what we’ve accomplished together for our state–and why it matters to our future. In this email, I’ll begin, as we did three years ago, with our vision and core values. These values guide our work in the Attorney General’s Office–and the people of Colorado need to know not only what we do, but why and how we do it.
Our vision: Together, we serve the people of Colorado, advancing the rule of law, protecting our democracy, and promoting justice for all.
This is our true north, which we follow in doing our work on a daily basis.
Our core values:
* We are committed to acting based on principle and are driven to realize our nation’s commitment to equal justice under the law;
* We are focused on the people of Colorado, honoring our obligations as public servants;
* We are guided by our state’s innovative spirit; and
* We recognize that we are better together and can best solve problems through collaboration.
As public servants and professionals, we believe in listening, understanding a problem, and then working to solve it. And as your attorney general, I’m asking for your support so that we can continue to deliver results for Colorado–in defending our democratic institutions, addressing the opioid epidemic, fighting to keep fentanyl out of our communities, advancing public safety, protecting consumers, and protecting Colorado’s land, air, and water.
All of this work will be founded securely on our vision and core values.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to standing with you and hearing from you in the months ahead.
