Friend, Elected officials, tribal leaders, and local advocates are taking action to protect some of the most visually stunning, biologically diverse, and culturally significant lands in the Mojave Desert: Avi Kwa Ame, also known as Spirit Mountain. We’re bringing this fight right to you on this week’s Out In Front and during a special livestream on Friday morning! Tonight, Thursday, Jan. 13th Out In Front begins at 5:00pm, where we’ll be joined by Taylor Patterson of the Nevada Voters Alliance Nevada, Bertha Gutierrez of Conservation Lands Foundation, and Craig Bakerjian from the Avi Kwa Ame Campaign. Then, tomorrow, on Friday, Jan. 14th, at 10:30am, don’t miss our special event with Congresswoman Dina Titus and Commissioner Michael Naft as they join advocates and Tribal leaders in calling on President Biden to designate the Avi Kwa Ame National Monument! That event will be streamed here and on YouTube. Tribal leaders and conservation groups have called for the designation since the launch of the Biden Interior Department’s “America the Beautiful” initiative, under the leadership of the first Native American Interior Secretary, Deb Haaland, to conserve 30% of the nation’s land and water resources by 2030. Join us as our guests lay out why Avi Kwa Ame is an ideal landscape for a National Monument designation, as well as steps the Biden Administration can take to preserve the sacred cultural and natural history of the area. We hope we’ll see you there,
