I grew up in the border town of Laredo, Texas, the heart of Texas’ 28th
District. It’s one of the bluest districts in the country, and five years
ago, I went to Washington to intern for my Congressman, Henry Cuellar.

But when I got there, what I saw was a politician who cared more about
corporate special interests than his own constituents.

Last Congress, Henry Cuellar voted with Donald Trump nearly 70% of the
time. He’s anti-choice, has an “A” rating from the NRA, and takes
thousands from Big Oil, the Koch Brothers, and the private prison industry
in exchange for doing their bidding.

And the worst part? He calls himself a Democrat.

So now I’m running against him because it’s time for us to elect a real
Democrat in South Texas. I’ll fight for progressive policies -- like
Medicare for All, a $15/hour minimum wage, and getting big money out of
politics -- that truly represent the values of our community. But I cannot
do this alone.

I’m not taking a dime of corporate PAC money. Instead, we’re building a
movement for la gente — the people of South Texas, and we need your help.

[ [link removed] ]Will you please donate $3 (or whatever amount is meaningful to you) to
our campaign today? Our movement is powered entirely by people like you
who understand how important it is to grow progressive power in Congress.

I’ve spent my career as an immigration and human rights attorney. I’ve
gone up against our immigration system to fight for families seeking
asylum. I know how broken our system is and how unjust our laws can be.

I’ve seen firsthand the impact of Donald Trump’s dangerous, racist agenda
along our border. And rather than stand with our community against this
xenophobic administration, Henry Cuellar voted to fund Trump’s racist
border wall — miles of which are being built here, in our district.

Look, here’s the truth: Henry Cuellar may claim to be a Democrat, but he
certainly does not act like one. Just because he has a “D” next to his
name, does not mean he represents our values.

TX-28 deserves a champion in Washington who shares our values. So it’s
time to give our community a real choice — a chance to vote for a real
Democrat. That’s why I’m running for Congress.

But this is going to be a tough fight. It’s big money vs. our people, and
we have less than four months until election day.

Henry Cuellar’s corporate and Big Oil backers will spend whatever it takes
to keep him in office. The only way we will win on March 3rd is if we do
this together.

I am honored to be endorsed by the PCCC and have the support of members
like you. Today, will you join our movement, a movement to improve the
lives of working people in South Texas and across the country?

Unidos en la lucha,

Jessica Cisneros

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told PCCC members, "The majority of Americans are with us on the policies. Americans support Medicare for All, expanding Social Security benefits, gun reform, debt-free college, and a $15 minimum wage. Bold progressive values are popular EVERYWHERE. Together, we have the people. Together, with your help, we’ll have the votes." Chip in $3 here: [link removed]
